Speakers; Dr. Robyn Whitney-Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at McMaster University; Dr. Ahsan Moosa Naduvil Valappil -pediatric epileptologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic; Dr. Lily Wong-Kisiel - pediatric epileptologist and the medical director at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Robyn Whitney is a Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at McMaster University. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. She completed her Epilepsy Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her clinical and research interests are epilepsy genetics, epilepsy surgery, SUDEP and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. She developed the first multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Clinic at McMaster University. She sits on the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Terminology and epilepsy syndrome Task Force. She also sits on the KCNT1 medical advisory board and she is the Program Director of the Canadian Epilepsy Teaching Network. She is a member of the PAME conference organizing committee.
Dr. Ahsan Moosa Naduvil Valappil is a pediatric epileptologist and Associate Professor of Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr Moosa completed his medical school in India at Thanjavur Medical College, Tamil Nadu, and later completed pediatrics neurology and epilepsy at Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified in Child neurology & Epilepsy and has been a staff physician at Cleveland Clinic since 2013. He specializes in caring for children with a wide range of epilepsies. He directs the ketogenic diet clinic for epilepsy. His research has focused on outcomes after epilepsy surgery. Dr. Moosa has authored over 75 articles in the field of neurosciences.
Dr. Lily Wong-Kisiel is a pediatric epileptologist and the Medical Director at the Mayo Clinic Foundation Pediatric Epilepsy Center. She is involved in the management of children with intractable epilepsy. She has a particular interest in noninvasive surgical planning for epilepsy surgery, thereby identifying those patients who have a reasonable likelihood of favourable outcomes from epilepsy surgery. Dr. Wong-Kisiel's research focuses on the advancement of clinical care and treatment outcomes for children with epilepsy.
