hello! I have a patient who needs a provider near Comoros. B’s family is from the USA but lives in Comoros full time. They came back to the USA to have the baby and visit family, but they will be returning to Comoros in early January 2023. B is about 5mo old right now and is also s/p cooling. NICU MRI did show 3 or 4 punctate foci of intraventricular blood without corresponding brain injury or encephalomalacia. He does have some continued mild to moderate left sided spasticity. He also has a sacral dimple, so as family is planning on moving soon and are unclear on resources back home, we proactively have ordered an MRI spine, which is scheduled for 19 December.
Family is compliant with home PT but is looking for ped neurology options in Eastern Africa. We did discuss that there are likely options in Durban/Joburg/Cape Town if necessary, but they would prefer to stay closer to home. I’ll also take neurosurgical options as well, just in case there is something concerning on his MRI spine.
Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
