The meeting consisted mainly of didactic lectures. The lectures were delivered in a practical format with use of videos in order to facilitate training. The team had the opportunity to visit two hospitals and evaluate difficult clinical cases, as requested by members of the Ecuadorian Pediatric Neurology Association.
The Ecuadorian Society of Pediatric and Pediatric Neurology provided: Excellent accommodation facilities at Swissotel Company, Very appropriate conference rooms with good audio-visual equipment. Size of the room suitable for a large audience, Meals during the meeting, complimentary coffee and snacks for audience, in addition to meals, complimentary water during meeting, transportation from and to the airport for all speakers
Organizers from Pediatric and Pediatric Neurology Ecuadorian Society were great hosts to the CNS-ICNA team.
Outcomes
- The objectives of the symposium were met. Audience was extremely knowledgeable and participative
- The Ecuadorian Pediatric society perceived the talks as very useful and provided very positive feedback
- Talks were presented in a practical format. Multiple videos were showed for teaching purposes.
Future Plans
The Pediatric and Pediatric Neurology of Ecuador requested to continue with organization of future educational meetings in a long term and systematic fashion.
Local society also suggested organizing workshops focused in specific disorders to provide training in topics such as EEG, headaches, etc.
