Dr. Munoz Pareja is an Associate Professor and the Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program at Holtz Children’s Hospital, as well as a scientific faculty member at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at the University of Miami. She earned her medical degree from Universidad del Norte in Colombia and completed her pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL. Subsequently, she pursued a pediatric critical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Her expertise in neurocritical care focuses on education and simulation, with a research emphasis on brain inflammation and biomarkers for diagnosing and forecasting brain injury response in ICU settings. Additionally, Dr. Munoz Pareja is dedicated to global pediatric neurocritical care, holding roles as the Neurocritical Care Society's Chair-Elect for Emergency Neurological Life Support and the Co-Chair of the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group's Global Neurocritical Care initiative.
