Dr. Mubeen F. Rafay is an Associate Professor, Pediatric Neurologist and Stroke specialist in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, at the University of Manitoba. She is also a Clinician Scientist at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM). Her clinical and research focus include childhood stroke, Rett Syndrome, and various inflammatory and genetic neurological diseases. She has published widely in her areas of clinical interest. She is very passionate about advancing pediatric neurology education and has supervised many trainees, both locally and internationally. This is best reflected by her current positions as the Chair of the International Affairs Committee of the International Child Neurology Society (CNS), member Child Neurology Pakistan, an Honorary Professor Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Pakistan and a visiting faculty at several other medical institutes in Pakistan. She is a valuable member of the national and international Pediatric Stroke Network. Both nationally and internationally, she participates actively in strategic planning, advocacy, and guidelines development for childhood stroke through her various committee positions and strong affiliations with the International Pediatric Stroke Study (IPSS), the International Pediatric Stroke Organization (IPSO), and the Canadian Stroke Consortium.
