Paediatric Neurologist, Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre; Redcross War Memorial Children's Hospital; University of Cape Town
I am a Paediatric Neurologist trained at Redcross War Memorial Children's Hospital under Prof Jo Wilmshurst at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. I am originally from Kilimanjaro,Tanzania. I trained and practiced as a Paediatrician at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. My passion for Paediatric Neurology emerged during my residency training, where I found myself drawn to children with neurological disorders. Living in a resource limited setting, working and being exposed to various encounters, I have witnessed the many challenges and struggles faced by these children and the profound impact it has on their families. This ignited a passion and drive to enhance my knowledge and clinical skills as well as to understand and make a difference in their overall well-being. As a Paediatric Neurologist with special interest in epilepsy, I hope to inspire more young doctors, health professionals and other stakeholders to guide and light the way towards a brighter future for children living with epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
