Senior Lecturer, Kenyatta University

Sam is a senior lecturer at the School of Medicine in Kenyatta University and a supervisor for the Kenya Child Neurology Fellowship Program. He is a visiting consultant pediatric neurologist at the Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Nairobi; and supports rural access to neurological care through a network of 25 primary healthcare centers called Ubuntu-Afya Kiosks which he helped found. He is involved in a number of advocacy and capacity-building activities in epilepsy and child neurology and has been instrumental in the founding of the Kenyan IBE affiliate, the National Epilepsy Coordination Committee, and the East African Child Neurology Association. He is the current chair of the African Child Neurology Association. Sam is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and has a Doctorate from the University of Amsterdam
