My research is aimed at understanding the causes and consequences of cerebrovascular disease in children. Main areas of current work are: 1. Investigating the role of endothelial injury and repair in children with arterial ischaemic stroke 2. Clinical features and the role of surgical revascularisation in children with moyamoya 3. Neurodevelopmental outcome in children with vein of Galen malformation 4. Quality of life and behaviour in children with focal infarction in the basal ganglia 5. A population based study of stroke outcome in children in the South of England 6. Risk factors for arterial ischaemic stroke: data from the multicentre IPSS study 7. Relationship between signal change on diffusion weighted imaging and motor outcome in paediatric arterial ischaemic stroke This work is undertaken in conjuction with the clinical paediatric neurovascular service at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust.
