About the session: Movement disorders in Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE) encompass a range of motor dysfunctions, including dystonia, chorea, and myoclonus. These involuntary movements result from complex neurophysiological disruptions linked to the underlying epilepsy and developmental impairments. Understanding their pathophysiology is crucial for developing targeted therapeutic interventions and improving patient outcomes.
Learning objectives:
- Phenomenology of movement disorders in children with DEE
- Exploring the etiological spectrum of DEE with movement disorders
- To understand the pathophysiological basis and possible link between epilepsy and movement disorders in DEE
