There is considerable published literature on Botulinum Toxin as a potentially effective treatment for Chronic Daily Headache in adults(1,2,3,4). A recent retrospective case note survey done at the Mayo clinic Rochester studied the case records of 10 children aged 11-17 yrs who had received botulinum toxin for chronic migraine, chronic tension-type headache and trochlear neuralgia.Their observations suggested a potential benefit from botulinum toxin type A in pediatric patients with medically intractable chronic daily headache, particularly in those with chronic migraine(5).
