What advice should I give regarding immunisation in a child with "Dravet Syndrome"?

There is no contraindication for immunisation in Dravet Syndrome. However precaution must be taken to try and prevent any febrile episode following the immunisation. Some physicians even advise increasing the dose of AEDs at the time.
Vaccination should not be withheld from children with SCN1A mutations because we found no evidence that vaccinations before or after disease onset affect outcome.
