We invite you to take a look at the scientific program of Brain Plasticity in Epilepsy, a unique meeting held in Leuven, Belgium, May 13 – 16, 2017.

 

Our goal is to provide a highly interactive forum for clinical practitioners and researchers with a focus on brain reorganization in epilepsy and how brain plasticity affects motor, cognitive and imaging aspects.

   

We are very honored to be hosting an expert faculty of distinguished international speakers on the following topics:

 

brain networks in epilepsy

epileptogenesis and functional plasticity

brain reorganization in epilepsy: motor, cognitive and imaging aspects

disconnection in epilepsy

neuromodulation

prediction of seizures and outcomes

 

We encourage you to submit an abstract and share your research with other experts in the field of epilepsy.

The deadline for abstract submission is April 16, 2017.

We are pleased to announce the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Update & Review Course – 2017 to be held September 23-25, 2017, at the Intercontinental Hotel located on the main campus of the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. The course will not only provide state-of-the-art updates on Epilepsy diagnosis, medical and  surgical treatment, This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ as well as the selfassessment activity of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology maintenance of certification (MOC)  program. The program content is appropriate for practicing Adult and Child Neurologists as well as Epileptologists, trainees/fellows, mid-level providers, and nursing personnel. Please share these dates with your team members who may also benefit from this course. 

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will be able to do the following:

  • Review the Essential Pathophysiology and Classification of the Epilepsies 
  • Review the pharmacology and action of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) 
  • Describe major epileptic syndromes across the age spectrum 
  • Discuss the differential diagnosis of epilepsy and related paroxysmal disorders such as syncope, cardiac events and nonepileptic seizures 
  • Discuss epilepsy management in women of childbearing age 
  • Describe treatment options for patients with medically refractory epilepsy 
  • Interpret electroencephalographic information in ambulatory patients, in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in ICU and in status epilepticus 

Target audience

The symposium is designed for adult and pediatric neurologists and epileptologists.

CIP brings an innovative and stimulating global academic debate platform searching for consensus and agreements on main child health pathologies, management options of paediatric health problems, difficulties faced and controversies.
