From evidence to clinical practice: Navigating the diagnosis and management of Dravet syndrome
We are delighted to welcome you to an interactive symposium ‘From evidence to clinical practice: Navigating the diagnosis and management of Dravet syndrome’ . The faculty of international experts, chaired by Professor Hasan Tekgül (Ege University, Turkey), will explore the application of the latest research, evidence, and guidelines to clinical practice in patients with Dravet syndrome, a severe, treatment-resistant developmental and epileptic encephalopathy with onset in infancy. Dravet syndrome is characterised by a high seizure burden as well as severe neurodevelopmental, motor, cognitive, and behavioural disabilities. The expert faculty, including Professors Lieven Lagae (University of Leuven, Belgium) and Rima Nabbout (Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, France), will discuss the importance of an early and accurate diagnosis of Dravet syndrome and practical tools to support differential diagnosis; highlight the need for holistic management of both seizure and non-seizure parameters associated with the condition; and describe the latest best practice management guidelines through real-world case discussion. Professionals in paediatric neurology will gain fundamental expert insights on the latest ILAE definitions and classification of Dravet syndrome, as well as learn how cutting-edge European and International consensus management guidelines can be applied in practice. There will be an opportunity to hear patient cases, discuss how best to measure improvements in patient outcomes, and ask questions to the expert panel. This is a promotional symposium organised and funded by Zogenix–now a part of UCB, for healthcare professionals and relevant decision-makers only.
