Dr. Bithi Debnath has been working as an Associate Professor of Paediatric Neurology in National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She completed FCPS in Paediatrics in 2009 and FCPS in Paediatric Neurology & Development in 2016 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. She did a fellowship in Autism from South Korea in 2014. She also got advanced training on Biochemical genetics and National expanded newborn screening from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. She has 45 publications in national and international journals. Her research areas included neuromuscular, neurometabolic, neurodevelopmental, and genetic disorders. Some of the projects she is currently involved in are: A Nationwide Facility-based study for determination of Prevalence of ‘Inborn Errors of metabolism’ in high-risk Neonates and Children in Bangladesh; Changes in the nerve electrophysiologic and ultrasonographic properties before and after correction of malnutrition in under-5 children.
