West Syndrome (Infantile Spasms)
• Hypsarrhythmia
• Disorganized and chaotic background activity
• Irregular high amplitude 1-3 Hz slow waves with
multifocal asynchronous spikes or sharp waves
• Appear during awake and light sleep states
• Modified or atypical hypsarrhythmia possible
• Electrodecremental event (EDE)
