Normal EEG in Infancy
• Delta and theta equally prominent
• Transient asymmetries
• Central rhythms develop during the 1st year
• Posterior rhythms equivalent to alpha of older age
during eye closure
• V waves of higher voltage and briefer than in adults
(spike-like) begins at 3-4 months
• Spindles of more numerous and longer than later
expressed at 3-4 months
