Use of The Ilae 2022 Definition and Diagnostic Criteria For Epilepsy Syndromes In Children- A Retrospective Chart Review
Introduction: The ILAE Nosology and Definitions Task Force published defined diagnostic criteria for epilepsy syndromes in 2022 following which we reviewed the use of these new diagnostic criteria in children with epilepsy. Objectives: Our objective was to study the prevalence of epilepsy syndromes, and evaluate changes in the syndromes diagnosed previously, as per the ILAE 2022 diagnostic system. Conclusion: The new diagnostic criteria led to an overall change in diagnosis in 14% of children with epilepsy. These new diagnostic criteria provide an objective structured way of classification of epilepsy providing uniformity especially in managing a child with epilepsy with scope of int
