The Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital is the major paediatric hospital in Queensland, with 320 beds, providing tertiary paediatric care for children in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, Australia. All paediatric subspecialties are represented in the hospital. The neurology department provides a general neurology service, subspecialty clinics in a number of areas (epilepsy surgery, ketogenic diet, VNS therapy, tuberous sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, cerebrovascular disorders/stroke, headache and neurodevelopmental disorders). It also provides a consultative service to two NICU’s and provides neurological support regionally via telehealth and outreach paediatric neurology services. Comprehensive EEG services are available. The department is staffed by nine paediatric neurology consultants and Fellows are supported by four junior medical staff. There is an active education program with opportunities for research.
The applicants would need to have completed their basic paediatric training and passed an examination (or equivalent) of their paediatric training.
