The initiative for this meeting was taken by Dr Lakshmi Nagarajan from the ICNA.The international Teaching faculty for this congress was Drs Pratibha Singhi, Sunit Singhi, Soumya Ghosh and Lakshmi Nagarajan. The faculty had a warm welcome from the staff of HCMC Children’s Hospital 2. Of the 3 hospitals in HCMC, Children's Hospital 2 is the only one with Paediatric Neurology. Dr Ghosh and Dr Nagarajan visited the Neurology ward. There were 14 neurology medical staff in total including residents and consultants. The hospital had upto 140 inpatients/day and performed ~ 90 EEGs/day. The nursing staff recorded the EEGs.There were 10-12 beds in a room in the ward almost back to back, with some accommodating more than one child. The meeting was a success with some of the Vietnamese child neurologists saying that it opened up new vistas for them. There were about 150 participants. The faculty gave several talks which were translated and there were lot of discussions and interaction from the participants.

Dr Nagarajan also talked to the Vietnamese colleagues about ICNA future leaders, ICNA bursaries for the ICNA congress, the resources on ICNAPedia e.t.c. It is our hope that these efforts will translate into more events promoting education and care for children with neurological disorders and further collaboration with international colleagues.
