About the topic:

Cerebral palsy is common in pediatric neurology clinics. Early diagnosis of cerebral palsy, especially in children at risk (perinatal insult) is the cornerstone for planning early interventions, which in turn lay a foundation for achieving optimal motor control, mitigating disabilities and fostering child-centric care for holistic development. In most cases, children with cerebral palsy present once motor delays and tonal abnormalities have set in.
In this podcast, we will discuss cases and gain insights about the early diagnosis of cerebral palsy and understand the utilization of tools for the same.

Learning objectives:

• Tools for early diagnosis of cerebral palsy
• Assessment of a child with evolving cerebral palsy
• Neonatal general body movements assessment as a predictor for the development of cerebral palsy
• Early identification of co-morbidities of cerebral palsy
