The University of Rochester Department of Neurology seeks a physician interested in developing a clinical research career addressing health conditions contributing substantially to the neuropsychiatric burden of disease in resource- limited settings. Projects associated with the Fellowship involve both children and adults in sub-Saharan Africa and conditions under study include neurologic complications of HIV, malaria, and neuromuscular and neuroinfectious diseases common in this setting. Expertise in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials and regulatory science will be further developed as part of this fellowship which will also include substantial work in the field with hands on clinical care and medical education embedded within clinical research activities. Applicants should be physicians who have completed a residency in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Child Neurology, Psychiatry or Family Medicine who can obtain medical licensure in Zambia. It is anticipated that the majority of the fellowship will be spent working in Lusaka, Zambia.
