Dr. Piantino is a Child Neurologist and a physician-scientist with the Papé Family Research Institute. He is dual fellowship-trained in Clinical Neurophysiology and Pediatric Neurocritical Care. His clinical interests include epilepsy and traumatic brain injury. In addition, Dr. Piantino runs a research lab focused on the effects of traumatic brain injury and poor sleep on brain function. His lab receives funding from the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Defense, and other local sources. When he is not at the hospital, Dr. Piantino enjoys spending time with his children outdoors, mountain biking and windsurfing.
