Neurologists, however, might think these words a fitting accolade for Samuel Wiebe. Born in 1958 into a Hispanic–German–Dutch community in Nuevo Ideal among the foothills of Mexico's Western Sierra Madre mountains, Wiebe is now Professor of Clinical Neurosciences and Associate Dean of Clinical Research at the University of Calgary (Calgary, AB, Canada), and was recently elected President of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE)—positions for which he has all the right badges.
